Lent at Clifton Cathedral
Clifton Cathedral CAFÉ group is hosting a Lent Journey, starting at 7pm on Tuesday 23rd February for 5 weeks in the Apostle Room. Professor Gavin D’Costa will be speaking each week, this will be followed by table discussion on the chosen topic. Topic for the first week is “Passover Meal & Jesus’ suffering in the Gospels” – why is suffering central to Lent? Light refreshments will be available, all are welcome. The programme is as follows:
2 The Mass as Jesus’ sacrifice for our salvation – what happens in the Eucharist and what happens to us?
3 Fasting and self-denial: why do it, and why now?
4 Confession and prayer: why is this so special at Lent?
5 The resurrection: what happened, and what might it mean to us?

Stephen Bryant - ORGAN RECORDING
Following the restoration of the cathedral’s magnificent Rieger organ, Stephen Bryant (Cathedral Organist) has recorded an attractive CD of organ music. It contains arguably the most famous piece of organ music as well as several other delightful pieces from the organ repertoire. It has been described as “easy listening” and is superbly presented with insightful programme notes from Richard Jones. The CD has been produced to help raise the funds required to pay for the recent renovation and is on sale at the cathedral repository or from Cathedral House for £10. It is also possible to order it online at www.cliftonms.com for £11 (inc p&p).
