Phoenix Social Group
The Phoenix Social group has been in existence for about 18 years. It was started at Clifton Cathedral by a group of people in their 20s and 30s, predominantly for single Catholics who were new to Bristol and wanted to make social contacts with like-minded people. The group was then called CAFE but later changed its name to Phoenix.

The composition, purpose and activities of the group are determined by its members. It is a mixed group of about 15 people with an age range of 30-50, most are single but there are some couples. It is predominantly Catholic but we welcome anyone in Christian-fellowship. Our backgrounds and jobs are very varied yet the members are very open and friendly and new members are not only welcome but also made welcome.

As there is no constitution for the group, it is the members that determine social activities. We meet every Tuesday evening at 8pm at venues around Bristol and we plan events for weekends. Come along and meet us. All of us were new members once and we still remember how difficult it was to make the first move and come to our first meeting - so we do understand how you may feel about making the decision to come along. For this reason we have a welcoming meeting on Tues 19th October at the bar in the social club at the Sacred Heart Church, Westbury-on-Trym at 8.30pm.

Joining Phoenix is a great way to make friends and increase your social life.
