The Sacristans at Clifton Cathedral have the following roles:

• Open the Church for 7.30 Mass during the week.

• Prepare altar and vestments for Mass.

• Check altar breads and wine.

• Check candle stocks.

• Check sanctuary lamp.

• Keep main Sacristy and Bishop’s Sacristy clean.

• Washing of Purificators.

• Making of Purificators.

• Keeping vestments in good repair.

Ladies feel they do not require extra help at this time, but the lady who has been cleaning the silver for us has left to have a baby, so we need someone to replace her, and the Sacristan will show the new volunteer all that needs to be done.
