How much did it cost to build the Cathedral?
Total cost including the site and buildings thereon was £800,000 at 1973 prices. This included the cost of the Cathedral and the house and Offices next door and external works, car park etc.

Paid for by a series of donations, and in part by a loan to the Diocese, and the sale of the site of the ProCathedral once it became available.

A few years earlier the Cathedral of Christ the King, Liverpool was constructed at a cost well in excess of £1 million. The site in that case was already in church ownership.
